The employee must have mechanical skills as he will be responsible for routine maintenance of all equipment as well as the three irrigation pivots. He will be responsible for planting/drilling all of the crops as well as fertilizer applications. He will also manage irrigation and chemigation applications on the pivots. Someone with experience with sprayers and herbicide application will command a higher salary as will someone with the ability to scout crops.  Most of the crops will be custom harvested. However, the employee must have or be willing to get a CDL, a pesticide applicator license, and a chemigation permit.
Someone familiar with no-till farming practices would be preferred. Although a degree in agronomy, range science, or animal science would be helpful, a college degree is not absolutely required. However, experience running machinery is. Above all, the employee must be open to new ideas and have a willingness to learn.
When there is a lull in the farming activities, the employee will help build and maintain high tensile fence or set up temporary electric fencing for high intensity grazing. He may help with moving cattle or processing them through the chute. During the winter, he will help keep livestock water open, feed cattle, or move snow if necessary. He will work on getting equipment ready for the next season in our well- equipped shop.
The salary is negotiable depending on the employee's level of experience, education, and ability; however , it will be an excellent salary for this part of the world where the cost of living is quite low. We will provide accident insurance and two weeks of paid vacation.
