Aggies Win One & Lose One

The NCTA Aggies evened their record to 2-2 for the season with a win at home against Club House of North Platte and lost at McCook College in McCook on Monday evening.  Both games were won in four sets.  On Thursday night NCTA downed Clubhouse by scores of 30-10, 30-19, 30-32, and 30-16 and on Monday the Aggies lost to McCook College by scores of 27-30, 25-30, 30-23, and 26-30.

In the Club House game the Aggies came out strong and pounded on their opponents.  Dakota Staub led the scoring with 12 points and was followed by Kaytlyn Cooksey of Roggen, CO, with 11.  The Aggies played with a lot of intensity throughout the evening.

On Monday the Aggies and the McCook College Indians had a close battle.  In the first two sets, the Indians got a nice lead only to have NCTA come back up to make the game interesting.  In the 3rd set the Aggies jumped out to a good lead and hung on for the win.  The Indians won the fourth and deciding games.  Hilary Grone of Davenport, NE, scored a season high 21 points.  She was followed by Codi Staub with 18.  Grone had 19 kills.  Staub had 13 kills and 5 aces while serving.  Again it was Dakota Staub leading the assists with 22.  Kodee Walker of Bayard had 6 kills and 4 kill block for 10 points.

Coach Morgan Stout had a lot of praise for the Aggies in the two games.  She stated, "I really like the way that the team has come together.  It seems like when one girl is off a little two others pick up the slack."  The movement of the floor play and the power in hitting has seemed to improve with each game.

The Aggies will travel to LaGrange, WY, for a contest on Tuesday, September 26th.
