Improve Horsemanship Skills at Reining and Perfomance Clinic

Curtis, NE, May 9, 2007: - Riders of all abilities will have a once in a lifetime opportunity to improve handling and horsemanship skills by attending NCTA's Sherman Tegtmeier Reining and Performance Horse Clinic.  The clinic is scheduled to take place at the Livestock Training Center Indoor Arena at NCTA on June 9-10, 2007.

The highlight of the clinic is the participants' opportunity to work with Sherman Tegtmeier of Tegtmeier Performance Horses.  Mr. Tegtmeier currently serves as the president of the Central Plains Reining Horse Association.  He has received numerous awards ranging from the 2003 American Royal Open Reining Champion Award to the 2004 PHBA World Champion Open Reining Stakes.

Judy Bowmaster, NCTA Equestrian Team Coach, is excited about working with Tegtmeier in this setting.  "Mr. Tegtmeier not only takes the time to teach participants the skills they need to become better riders, but also shows his support of the industry by donating his normal fee back to the Nebraska Reining Horse Association.  It really ends up being a win-win for everyone," states Bowmaster.

All levels of experience are welcome to participate in the clinic.  Students will be grouped by horse/rider training and ability and will be instructed at a designated time.  "By specifying times for each group, it eliminates waiting times and allows smaller group sessions for instruction," adds Bowmaster.  "So whether you are a barrel racer, roper, rancher or ride for pleasure, this clinic will meet and exceed your expectations."

Registrations for the clinic are due by June 4, 2007.  For more information about the Reining and Performance Horse Clinic or to register, please contact Judy Bowmaster, NCTA Equestrian Team Coach, at jbowmaster1@unl.edu or NCTA at 1-800-3CURTIS.
