Collegiate FFA & 4H Initiate Canned Food Drive
CURTIS, NE , APRIL 8, 2008: - As one way to give back to the community that supports them throughout the year, the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture's (NCTA) Collegiate 4-H and FFA organizations will be holding a canned food drive and trash pickup in and around Curtis.
While both organizations don't have a specific goal in mind, they hope to be able to fill the shelves of the local food pantry with come much needed supplies. "So often, we don't realize that there is a huge need for assistance in rural areas," Minary states. "We hope that this drive will make an impact in some way."
On Saturday, April 19, 2008, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the public is invited to drop off non-perishable food items and monetary donations at the Curtis Mall.
In addition, both groups will take care of 'making Curtis beautiful' by performing trash pickup at the NCTA Adopt-a-Highway area west of Curtis on Highway 23 on Thursday, April 17, at 6:00 p.m.
