October 17, 2008 (Curtis, NE) By Jami Salas          NCTA sophomore Erin Ridpath was recently named September Aggie of the Month. Ridpath, a Cambridge High School graduate, opted to transfer from UNL to NCTA to gain a more hands-on education in veterinary technology and agriculture production; she also wanted to experience a smaller campus atmosphere. Hunting is her main hobby. Ridpath’s work at a feed yard near Arapahoe, her current home, allows her to gain experience in working with large animals, which is her main focus. After graduation, Ridpath plans to work with large animals or at a mixed-practice veterinary clinic, so that she can work with small and large animals. Ridpath was nominated as Aggie of the Month by Veterinary Technology Systems faculty, that recognizes and appreciates her hard work within her discipline.  One faculty member commented, “Erin takes exceptional care of the animals.  She takes her education seriously, never complains, and she is on-time for all duties.”  Ridpath is now eligible for “Aggie of the Year” honors which will be announced at the annual awards program before commencement exercises in May.
