Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture - Curtis

Last Chance Bull and Stock Horse Sale

The Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture will hold its Last Chance Bull and Stock Horse Sale at the NCTA Livestock Teaching Center on Saturday, April 18, at 1:00 p.m. Buyers will be allowed to preview horses under saddle beginning at 9:00 a.m.

One of the last bull sales in Nebraska this year, the event is being organized entirely by students in the Livestock Sales Management class taught by NCTA instructor and Livestock Judging coach Ryan Stainbrook. Students in the class use their skills to contact producers, market the sale, build the catalog, and stage the sale.

The student-driven event will feature forty-four Gelbvieh, Maine-Anjou, Simmental, Charolais, and club calf bulls, as well as fifteen horses, including roping and stock horses. Also to be auctioned is a kid-broke Welsh Pony.

Stainbrook says the sale is needed to help support the NCTA student population. A commission of each sale will go to support the college's Rodeo, Livestock Judging, and Equestrian Teams.

For more information about the consignments, buyers can contact Stainbrook at 308-367-5286 or rstainbrook2@unl.edu.
