Agricultural Laboratory Intern Position

American Agricultural Laboratory is seeking a Laboratory intern. Applicant will learn
multi-tasking, and organizational skills and how to be a team player along with lab and
agricultural office skills. Position has room for advancement for a person with drive and
interest.

Starting Date: Spring 2017 to September 2017.

Position Qualifications:

  1. Course study, or graduate in Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture or Agricultural Business from a Nebraska institution.
  2. Nebraska resident.
  3. Personal computer experience, including Windows, data entry skills.
  4. 30 to 40 hour/week.

Position Description: Laboratory Intern

  1. Learn how to identify and prepare samples for analysis.
  2. Become familiar with the SDS sheets and the safety precautions for chemicals.
  3. Become proficient in the proper use, storage, and disposal of chemicals.
  4. Directed by lab supervisor to perform assigned analytical procedures, titrations, gravimetric and colorimetric methods.
  5. Learn to operate lab equipment, e.g. pH and conductivity meters, analytical
  6. balances, dilutor/dispenser, etc.
  7. Perform data entry and steps for verifying quality control of data and reports.
  8. Learn specialized software for tracking client results to supply customer services.

Salary:

  1. $10.00/hour.
