Animal Control Officer
Hiring Range DOQ: $17.11 - $18.44 hourly

The Position
Perform enforcement and investigative duties in relation to the control of animals within the city and prevention of animal diseases communicable to man.
Qualification Standards
Graduation from high school or GED certification with a minimum of one (1) year’s experience working with animals and the general public; or any such combination of education, experience, and training as may be acceptable to the hiring authority.
Must possess, or be able to attain within one (1) year of hire, Module A certification by the National Animal Control and Humane Officer (NACHO) Training Academy.
Has not unlawfully used any prescribed drug, controlled substance, or marijuana within one year before the time of application.
Must have no convictions of any crime by any state or federal government punishable by imprisonment in a federal or state penitentiary.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must possess or be able to obtain prior to hire a valid driver’s license.
Must be willing to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and overtime as required.
