University of Nebraska—Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture offers Associate of Science Degree (A.S.)

The University of Nebraska--Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture (NCTA) in Curtis, NE offers the Associate of Science Degree (A.S.), this degree is in addition to the Associate of Applied Science Degree (A.A.S.). The A.S. degree is offered in all four majors; Agriculture Production Systems, Agribusiness Management Systems, Veterinary Technology Systems and Horticulture Systems. The A.S. Degree requires minimum of 63 credit hours for graduation. Students completing this degree program will be better prepared for baccalaureate work and find it easier to transfer into a four-year institution.

NCTA’s Associate of Science Degree (A.S) offers students the opportunity to achieve a transfer degree rich in agriculture, agribusiness, horticulture and veterinary technology. The A.S. degree gives NCTA students the same opportunity as other two year colleges that offer a transfer program.

The NCTA Associate of Applied Science Degree (A.S.S) focuses on the application of knowledge and skills. Some of the course work within these degrees may or may not be transferable; the degree is usually not intended for transfer to a four year institution. If you are looking for a transfer program, consider the NCTA A.S. Degree focusing on the academic areas of the sciences and general education courses. These courses are required for the degree to be a transferable program into a four year institution.
