Position Title: Calving season and spring work help

Position Type:  Internship w/potential for permanent employment

Location (City, State):  Lynch, NE (3 miles south of Lynch, NE along the Niobrara River

Job Description/Duties:

Operation includes calving 400 spring cows and 100 heifers. It, also, includes a small backgrounding operation of 500 calves. Facilities and equipment are very good. Cows are Angus and BWF with very little calving difficulty. Ranch is based on strong conservation and grazing practices.

Estimated Time: March 1st thru June 5th.

Qualifications or Skills Required:

We are looking for an intern during calving season and to help with some spring work.  Cattle work would include calving, pairing out, herd health, feeding cows, feeding backgrounding calves, AI, and putting cattle to pasture.  Job would also include some spring fencing, maintenance of calving lots, putting cattle to grass.  We are looking for someone who is motivated and wants to learn about ranching, financial aspects of running a business, grazing management and herd health.

Salary & Benefits:

Negotiable based on experience and skill level.  Looking for someone that is clean, detailed, with some cattle knowledge and wants to learn.  There is the potential for permanent employment.
