Looking for a person willing to work hard and not afraid to learn new things.  I will teach, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, dog training and general maintenance of the property.  There is also the need to be able to care for all the equipment to keep it in ready condition at all time. If they have the understanding of futures trading to market crops is a plus. Timing is flexible. If person wanted to work part-time, this is possible as long as they are available full time during harvesting and in the spring planting season.   I could start the person as early as July 2015.  Wages negotiable.

Full-time technician needed in mixed animal practice

New Horizon Veterinary Service is a mixed animal practice in rural Glenham, SD. The practice serves primarily cow calf clients and a small number of feedlots. Small animal work makes up about 30% of the practice's workload and consists primarily of canine and feline cases. Some equine work is also performed by the veterinarians.

The veterinarians in the practice are a husband and wife team, and both graduated from Iowa State University in 2005. The veterinarians strive to provide quality medical care in a compassionate manner. Every effort is made to handle cattle in a low stress manner, as we feel this is crucial to animal health. Both veterinarians strive to keep up with the latest research in both the small and large animal fields. The practice has an easy going atmosphere, where honesty and respect are considered of utmost importance.

Most of the bovine work is performed in the country. A portable hydraulic chute is used to handle cattle in a safe and efficient manner. A large animal haul in facility is used to treat individual cows and for bovine OB work. The practice is equipped with gas anesthesia, radiology, a dental machine with a high speed burr, and an autoclave.
The position requires a self-motivated individual who will take direction from the Veterinarian in carrying out laboratory, diagnostic and treatment support. This includes routine veterinary technician responsibilities such as assisting with vaccinations, surgeries, chute work, bovine dystocias, as well as some office work such as record keeping, preparing statements & invoices, and receiving/ordering inventory. The technician is also responsible for cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, autoclaving, and general husbandry of the clinic.
