Licensed veterinary technician needed full-time days, evenings and rotating Saturdays. We are a busy AAHA hospital in Western Omaha. Our practice is 32 years old and currently employs 7 veterinarians, 12 licensed veterinary technicians, 7 receptionists, 2 veterinary assistants and 5 kennel attendants.
Our 5000 square foot facility built in 1999 includes a fully equipped laboratory featuring Vetscan, Vetscan HM-5, I-stat, fecal centrifuge, a regular centrifuge, 2 microscopes and a culture incubator. Our clinic also offers ultrasonography, digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, 2 surgical lasers, therapy laser, acupuncture, endoscopy and bronchoscopy.

The Yard Foreman is responsible for the management of cattle intake through daily feed calls and delivery of feed rations. They are to determine daily feed calls based on cattle intake patterns, cattle type, weight, health, and weather. The Foreman should be able to visually appraise cattle behavior and bunk conditions to accurately determine appropriate feed requirements. The Foreman will be responsible for coordinating feed requirements and timing feed delivery. The Yard Foreman will also be directly involved in the harvest of all feed stuffs. The Yard Foreman is also responsible for the management of cattle receiving, processing, treatment, and shipping. They should be able to plan and deliver processing treatments based on the condition, health and weight of the cattle. Critical knowledge in proper cattle handling, accurate delivery of all animal health products, and implants.
The Yard Foreman will oversee the preventative and scheduled maintenance on all feed wagons, scales, chutes, 4 wheelers, syringes, implant guns, etc.
The candidate should have an agricultural background, experience or upbringing, a sound education and a desire to work in and manage production agriculture. Hands-on experience in one or more of the cattle production segments (cow calf, stocker, cattle feeding) is preferred. However, other related agricultural experience that demonstrates an understanding of cattle production and a desire to work in the cattle feeding industry will be considered. No college degree required.
Pay & Benefits:
This is a salaried position with wages based on qualifications, skills and experience. The Yard Foreman is eligible for end-of-year bonus plan and merit raises.
