Verner Veterinary Clinic Posted: Monday, December 14, 2015

Temporary job position for a veterinary technician or qualified veterinary technician student.

Our technician will be having surgery in January and will be off of work for roughly 6-8 weeks or longer.  She is the only full time licensed technician and we will, therefore, be compromised during that timeframe.  We have a couple of part-time licensed technicians but they also have other full time positions that take priority.

Any and all of the skills performed by a graduate technician would be desirable, but most importantly will want a responsible, focused, willing to learn and take initiative, type of person.

Since the probability of placing a large amount of responsibility on this individual is very high, we would ask for several very favorable references.

We do a considerable amount of lab work but the majority of that is sent out to Antech.  We have a Vet Test machine and hematology unit for emergency usage. Fecals, FeLv, FIV, FNA, fungal cultures, skin scrapings are routinely performed in house.

We have dental x-ray, still doing analog x-rays, MyLab US machine, endoscopy, doppler BP, gas anesthetic machines and various monitors.  We are predominately small animal  but do some on-the- farm large animal primarily cattle. We do after hours emergencies when appropriate.  We also board cats and dogs.

I would be happy to answer any questions any interested parties might have.
