University Regents approve two NCTA promotions

Lincoln, Neb. – Tee Bush and Jeremy Sievers of the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis have been promoted and now each carries the title of associate professor at NCTA.

Their promotions in rank were recently approved by the University of Nebraska Board of Regents, the governing board for all University campuses including the 51-year-old college at Curtis.

Both had been assistant professors in their academic duties at NCTA.  Their advancements were effective on August 15, 2016, said Ron Rosati, NCTA dean.

“NCTA’s academic programs have received national acclaim because of the success of our graduates. That success comes as a result of the efforts of top quality faculty like Tee Bush and Jeremy Sievers,” Rosati said. “Promotion is one way we recognize their commitment to our students and their effectiveness in the classroom.”

Bush joined the NCTA faculty in 2010 as horticulture instructor, has twice served as interim director of residence life, and now teaches in the general education division at NCTA.  She teaches mathematics, agriculture math, math for veterinary technicians and interpersonal skills for leadership. She also serves in numerous campus leadership posts including the Emergency Planning, Diversity, and Biosecurity and Traffic Committees.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in horticulture as well as her Master of Science in public horticulture from UNL, and is currently pursuing a doctorate in educational administration for educational leadership and higher education.  She is a native of Whitman, Neb.

Sievers joined the NCTA agribusiness management systems division in 2007. He coached NCTA traveling sports teams including men’s and women’s basketball for six years, and now coordinates the NCTA intramural sports programs for all students. He teaches agribusiness and general education courses, assists in many campus and travel activities including with instate and out-of-state transportation, the campus fitness center, student dances and campus music systems, and serves on several committees.

Sievers is a native of Wayne, Neb., earned his bachelor of science, and Master of Science Education in sport administration from Wayne State College.  He also earned an MBA from Eastern Illinois in business administration.

Rosati said Bush and Sievers are integral to NCTA as two of the college’s fulltime faculty.

“Tee and Jeremy are also very dedicated to the college and often work late into the night helping students with academic enrichment activities,” Rosati added. “I appreciate their willingness to go the extra mile to help our students be successful and have an enjoyable college experience.”
