Position Title: Ranch Hand

Job Description/Duties:

The ranch headquarters is located 8 miles Northwest of Tryon, NE. We, also, lease ground in the North Platte area. The operation is primarily 600, mostly red Angus based cows that calve mid April for 45 days. 160 of this is first calf heifers that calve mid March for 25 days. We normally put up 5,000 - 6,000 round bales, primarily around North Platte. We develop our own replacement heifers and AI them early June.

I have two very important expectations:
1. Admit to yourself when you aren't sure how to do the job given and ask for help.
2. Believe in yourself when I give you a specific responsibility. I wouldn't give you a job if I didn't think you could do it.

Qualifications or Skills Required:

Basic day to day care of animals
Routine checking and detecting calving problems
Occasionally doctoring cattle
Pairing out and moving cows by yourself
Operating machinery for feeding
Basic maintenance and care of equipment
Repair of barb wire fence
During the heart of calving, be prepared to be available 24/7
Most days can be 10 plus hours
