Housing Information

On Campus

Men’s and women’s residence halls are available for convenient on-campus living. All first year NCTA students will have the opportunity to experience residence hall life. Each dormitory is staffed with a dorm parent and security personnel. Dormitory living promotes the building of life-long friendships, creation of memories and fun. Monthly birthday parties, holiday activities, sporting events, ice cream socials, hot dog roasts in the fireplace, guest speakers and other activities foster group participation.

NCTA Cafeteria

It is required that students living in the Residence Halls purchase the Meal Plan at the cafeteria. This plan is for all meals offered by the cafeteria and includes up to 14 meals from Monday through Friday. No meals are served on weekends, Friday evenings, or the evening preceding a vacation period.

The cafeteria, located in the lower level of the East Residence Hall, offers a variety of food choices for each of the three meals offered daily (except on Friday). If you wish, you may check out the current menu for this week. The cafeteria offers full menus including a variety of entrees, a salad bar, soft-serve ice cream, soft drinks, juices and milk. Breads and desserts complete the menu choices.

Occasionally a student cannot eat in the cafeteria due to sickness, a field trip, or other conflicts. In the case of sickness, sick trays may be obtained through the Residence Hall Managers. As for field trips, or schedule conflicts (class or work), sack lunches will be available. The cafeteria staff asks that you give advance notice if you wish to obtain a sack lunch by calling them at 367-5246.

Dining at the NCTA Cafeteria is not limited to those students who live on campus. Off-campus students may purchase weekly meal tickets at the Cafeteria.

Some students need a four-course meal to get them through their full class loads. Others open their eyes with a simple bottle of soda or a candy bar before having their minds opened in class. Still others carefully plan their meals just as seriously as they plan their careers. Whatever your personal approach to eating - everyone at NCTA finds a time, a place and a menu to enrich their bodies while enriching their minds. Whether it’s a hamburger from the local cafe, a vending machine snack or a well-balanced meal, there’s a wide variety of choices to please any palate.

Off Campus

Some second-year students seek housing off-campus. First year students who are married, have children, are over 21-years-old, or transferring in more than 24 credit hours of college level courses are eligible to live off-campus. Several apartment complexes and rental homes are available in Curtis and the surrounding communities. Residential options may be found in the local newspapers, websites or the NCTA Admissions office.

Off-campus eating establishments offer great variety. Restaurants and the local convenience store provide some of the popular college food choices - pizza, hamburgers and Mexican food.
