Job Description/Duties:

Responsible for the Gestation and reproductive Physiology area. Duties will involve breeding and overall care of animals in the gestation and reproductive area of the Swine Unit. Duties include data collection, feeding of animals, vaccinations, and daily estrous observations. Maintenance of facility will involve repair as needed in all aspects. Employee will cross train to work in farrowing area and be involved in overall care of Sows and litters, records, and facilities. A Nebraska pesticide applicators license must be obtained within six months of hire. Position located in Mead, NE. Irregular hours required.

Qualifications or Skills Required:

Associate’s Degree in animal science plus two years experience working with breeding animals required; equivalency considered. Ability to work in a team, make timely decisions, care for animals, and maintain a sanitary environment necessary. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
