Monitor soil moisture content and schedule water applications to optimize crop growth. Supervise employees assigned to operate irrigation pivots, wells, and associated irrigation equipment. Operate, repair, and maintain irrigation systems and associated equipment. Collect and record irrigation data. Assist with other farm and/or hay duties as assigned.
Associate Degree in Agriculture or a related field plus two years relevant experience; equivalent education/experience considered. Ability to utilize computers to collect data and formulate reports necessary.
Must have a valid driver’s license and meet UNL driver eligibility requirements.
Criminal history background check and physical required.
Supervisory experience preferred. Experience with hydraulic and electric drive irrigation systems preferred. Experience maintaining and repairing well drive engines and motors preferred.
$17.50/hr. minimum
