Job Description/Duties
I'm Dan Reeves from Imperial, NE and a NCTA graduate in '99 & 2000. We have a diversified family farm with 2 employees.
We raise irrigated and dryland corn, popcorn, soybeans, wheat and seed wheat, as well as other grazing/forage crops. We utilize the latest precision and variable rate technologies in our no till and strip till operations with predominantly John Deere equipment. We use Zimmatic, Reinke, Valley and T&L pivots with electric and natural gas wells.
On the livestock side, we run a mixed commercial cow herd from 1st calf heifers to smooth mouth cows in groups that start calving February 1st and May 1st. We utilize rotational grazing and are always searching for the best nutrient management programs. We, also, run yearlings on grass and feed calves in 3 small grow yards.
Qualifications or Skills Required
Hours are plentiful but flexible and having to be gone some is understandable. Top pay for top effort and son on down the line. Housing can be provided as well as boarding for horses. We work hard and play hard. Preventative maintenance and taking things slow to be fast are keys to our operation. If you are in love with your phone or count cattle out loud, we might not be the best fit. Would hope I can learn something from you, too.
