Internship Opportunity - Irrigation Scheduling Focus

Who: Undergraduate student in agricultural and biological systems engineering, agronomy, mechanized systems management, natural resources, or related field.
What: With supervision, intern will evaluate locally calibrated irrigation scheduling tools, working on a team with numerous projects.
When: Spring/Summer 2021
Where: West Central Research, Extension & Educations Center in North Platte, Nebraska

The irrigation team at the West Central Re-search, Extension, and Education Center in North Platte, NE, is looking for a motivated undergraduate student interested in acquiring research experience in irrigated crop produc-tion. The intern will work closely with Dr. Rudnick and the TAPS team on improving irrigation scheduling technologies, investigating crop water and nitrogen interactions, and evaluating the impact of agronomic practices on input use efficiency and farm profitability. The individual will be involved with data collection, including soil and crop sensing, as well as data analysis and interpretation of findings. The intern will be provided opportu-nities to engage and share their results with growers as well as to the scientific community at professional meetings.
