Livestock Entomology Temporary Lab/Field Assistant
(Summer Only)

Responsibilities
- Provide assistance with cattle used in livestock insect research
- Deliver feed supplement to animals (daily)
- Monitor water and mineral stations (daily)
- Check on animal welfare (daily)
- Assist in gathering, sorting and weigh cattle (as required)
- Assist in data collection
- Record fly numbers from fly traps (daily)
- Monitor and refresh fly traps as needed
- Record fly population numbers, using digital imagery
- Enumerate fly numbers from digital images
- Record climatic conditions (daily)
- Computer utilization
- Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Gimp2)
- Laboratory duties
- Maintenance of insect colony (daily)
- Provide assistance in design and construction of laboratory and field testing devices
