Two-year degree programs such as those offered by the University of Nebraska’s campus in Curtis, at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture, have strong appeal for students seeking academics in smaller class sizes and learning environments.

That was one of several messages shared Sunday at a public forum in Curtis by University of Nebraska priority presidential candidate Walter “Ted” Carter, Jr.

CURTIS, Neb. – Curtis residents and partners of the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture are invited Sunday afternoon for a public forum with the intended next president of the University of Nebraska.

The 3 p.m. NCTA Community Forum and reception with Admiral Walter “Ted” Carter Jr.,  retired superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland, will be at the auditorium of the Nebraska Agriculture Industry Education Center, near Siminoe Avenue and University Road.

CURTIS, Neb. – A Willie Nelson tune could become the mantra for Omaha native Casey Gathje.

The 2010 graduate of the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis is “On the Road Again” – this time to the 92nd annual National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Last month Gathje was hired by her alma mater to become NCTA’s assistant recruiting coordinator.

The Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture will participate at the 92nd National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis.

NCTA’s assistant recruiter Casey Gathje will have an NCTA display in the Expo hall on October 30-31, and November 1. The booth location is #2465, said NCTA associate dean Jennifer McConville.

Nebraska’s two-year collegiate opportunities in the University of Nebraska system are known throughout this great state!

Student ambassadors, staff and faculty recruiters, and our Dean’s Office team from the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture have had outstanding opportunities this month.

We are enjoying meeting new friends as we share the story of the “gem of southwest Nebraska” to many audiences around the state.

Thomas Woracek and his daughter, Shayla, of Maxwell, converse with friends at the 2019 reunion and banquet of the Aggie Alumni Association. Shayla, the Class of 2019 valedictorian, received an alumni scholarship last year. Thomas graduated production agriculture, '85. Applications for 2019-2020 are due September 6.

CURTIS, Neb. – Our celebratory air of early July includes an appreciative summer salute to several outstanding alumni, partners and the staff of the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture.

First, I extend a tip of the hat to volunteer leaders of the Aggie Alumni Association. A special salute to retiring president Dave Mehaffey of Bellwood and Burwell for a fine two-year term.

CURTIS, Neb. - Alumnus Gary W. Hansen had a positive experience at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis while attending there in the mid-1970s.

As a result, his family is making certain future generations of students have the same opportunities for success in agriculture.

Improvements underway at the college are made possible with a significant memorial gift from Gary Hansen’s family which they made to the University of Nebraska Foundation.

CURTIS, Neb. – Agronomy students at NCTA now have “the latest and greatest” of modern field technology.

With the delivery last month of a new no-till planter, applied learning at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis took a giant leap forward, says the NCTA alumnus who built the fully-equipped 6-row planter.

Anson Nielsen, a 1999 graduate of NCTA’s Agricultural Production Systems program, is a Minden-area farmer and owner of Nielsen Ag Equipment.

Alumni are encouraged to attend in Broken Bow at the Nebraska One Box Convention Center.

Members and guests will celebrate another successful year for our NCTA students, the campus and the alumni of the 106 years that this institution has been educating Nebraskans and others.
