Paws-a-Palooza is looking for an onsite overnight kennel attendant. We have a small, furnished studio apartment with full bathroom attached and access to a full kitchen, washer/dryer, TV, Internet, and WiFi. No rent or utilities payments in exchange for the student being onsite and accessible during the overnight hours Sunday through Thursday (approximate hours 7pm-7am). Student is welcome to stay in apartment during the day but not required. In addition, we would require the tenant to assist with some small duties including, but not limited to:
Qualifications or Skills Required
etting our guests out as part of the last let out before bedtime. Walk through and check on dogs before retiring to make sure they have fresh water in their bowls. Ability to recognize emergency situations or abnormal behavior of the dogs and report it to a supervisor or make a note so the animal can be examined. Clean up any pet accidents that occur in the facility or indoor kennels. Make sure facility lights are off and all doors are locked at bedtime. Make sure kennel lights are off or dimmed and music is on but turned down in kennels. Wash and put away all food and water bowls and other dishes necessary. Operate washer and dryer to clean kennel bedding and facility laundry as needed. Maintain cleanliness of entire facility. Keeping high anxiety, nervous dogs in the studio apartment with you overnight to comfort them.
Salary and Benefits
This position is for free room and board, utilities paid, in exchange for being onsite at our facility from 7pm-7am Sunday through Thursday nights. Friday 7am until Sunday 6pm will be covered by another employee of the facility. This position has no responsibilities during that time frame and can go home or go out of town or stay with friends until Sunday 6pm rolls around.
