COVERAGE AREA:
Area A will cover the counties of: Cherry, Grant, Hooker, Thomas, Arthur, McPherson, Logan, and northern Lincoln. Area B will cover the counties of Perkins, southern Lincoln, Dawson, Chase, Hayes, Frontier, Gosper, Phelps, Dundy, Hitchcock, Red Willow, Furnas and Harlan.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
The employee will conduct grasshopper surveys, invasive plant pest trapping surveys and biological control work across Nebraska. The employee will be responsible for keeping records, collecting data in an electronic format (iPad), labeling/collecting field samples, and relaying information to the state office. Frequent overnight travel will be required. Supplies, transportation, travel expenses, and training will be provided by the employer. The employee will be stationed from their home in most situations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
General knowledge of horticulture and/or entomology would be helpful. A valid state driver's license is required. Candidates must be self-starters and able to work independently without direct supervision. Formal post-high school training in biology, horticulture and/or entomology would be helpful. Experience in using computers and iPads is desirable. The ability to email, print and scan documents regularly is a must.

$13.45 - $16.90 per hour
