Position Title: Ranch Internship

Position Type: Internship

Organization Name: Lundgren Angus Ranch

Location (City, State):  Gove, KS

Job Description/Duties

My wife and I are on her family's place, which is located south of Gove, Kansas, which is about 100 miles south of McCook, NE. My wife is the 4th generation of her family on the place.

We operate a registered Angus and Red Angus seed stock operation. We calve primarily in January and February, along with having our annual production sale the third Friday in February in which we sell about 90 yearling bulls and 2 dozen yearling open heifers.
We are ultimately looking for a full-time person to join our team, but as we search for that right person, we are considering all possible options for short term and/or long term help.

We hosted our first intern here on the ranch this past summer and that was a great experience. Therefore, we would be interested in bringing in another college student intern if someone had some interest.

We would need the person to start around January 1st and would like them to stay at least through the end of February, but would be able to utilize them through the middle of April.

Qualifications or Skills Required

During their time here, they would be able to assist with calving, bull sale preparations and sale day, along with synchronizing and breeding as well as flushing of donors and transferring of embryos should they choose to stay into April.

Salary & Benefits

We would be able to provide housing and access to ranch vehicles during their time here, in addition to payment on an hourly wage basis.
