Ritz Ranch near Arcadia, NE is looking for help.   500 April and May calving cows.  The calves are weaned on the ranch in early November and then background mid-December to August, depending on the markets and feed supply. The ranch also has about 300 acres of mostly pivot irrigated ground which is mainly used for growing forage to feed the cattle.  The forages grown are alfalfa, oat hay, millet, and forage sorghum.  All replacement heifers are artificially inseminated along with some of the cows.

The job description would include all aspects of a cow calf ranch such as feeding, fixing fence, tagging and processing day old calves, putting up hay with newer modern equipment, field work to prepare for and planting annual forages, checking cows and calves on summer grass, and low stress cattle handling skills.  All cattle handling in done with ATV's

No Sunday work with the exception of a few hours of feeding from mid-March to mid-May.  Some Saturday work during busy times.  Will average 40 hours a week through the year (longer in the summer shorter in the winter).  Housing and health insurance can be provided.  Wages and other benefits negotiable.
