Job duties apply for age 17 and younger:

Duties will be to help conduct research for Researcher’s Name and Department Projects, data collection (plant heights, row lengths, stand counts, and various other evaluations), hand-planting, hand-weeding, staking plots, and the ability to count, measure, use hand tools, and some data entry. Cannot operate mowers, tillers, small tractors, shredders, string trimmers, other small power tools, and cannot drive state vehicles both on the research facility and to off-site areas. Taking readings and data from five areas of research (Agronomy, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Irrigation, Weed Science).


Job duties 18 years of age and older:

The above stated job duties apply for age 18 as well as help conduct research for Researcher’s Name and Department Projects including establishing control trials in field crops and data collection (control evaluations, identification, counts, plant heights, crop stand counts, and various other evaluations). Can operate mowers, tillers, small tractors, shredders, string trimmers, other small power tools, and can drive state vehicles both on the research facility and to off-site areas with UNL license clearance. Other duties include hand-planting, hand-weeding, mowing, rototilling, staking plots, working with chemicals, and assisting with various other projects. Student will be responsible for mixing chemicals and washing chemical bottles after spraying. Taking readings and data from five areas of research (Agronomy, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Irrigation, Weed Science).

Be able to assist in conducting research, including establishing research trials in field crops, data collection evaluations, identification, counts, plant heights, crop stand counts, and various other evaluations. Age 18 and above--Be able to operate mowers, tillers, small tractors, shredders, string trimmers, other small power tools, and can drive state vehicles both on the research facility and to off-site areas with UNL license clearance. Other skills include hand-planting, hand-weeding, mowing, rototilling, staking plots, working with chemicals, and assisting with various other projects.
