Position Title: Timmerman Feedyard Management Internship

Job Description/Duties
The purpose of the internship is to train hard working individuals in the area of feedyard management to fill the growing need for trained, responsible individuals who can enter into management positions in feedyards. The internship trains students through comprehensive feedyard management classes and with real world experiences in high caliber feedyards.
The internship may be broken down into 3 segments:
1. Pre-Internship Training
- Training takes place via classroom discussion @UNL campus and in the field at nearby feedyard
- June 1, 2021 until early July
2. Host Feedyard
- Each intern is assigned to a high caliber feedyard that fit their specific goals and interests
- Interns rotate through multiple jobs in order to maximize learning through hands on experiences
- Wage and housing negotiated between feedyard employer and student
- Early July until December 5, 2021
3. Post-Internship Summary
- Interns return to UNL campus for class for further education and to review their experiences at feedyards
- December 5, 2021 until December 15, 2021
Qualifications or Skills Required
Interns must meet the following criteria:
1. Hardworking
2. Passionate about the beef cattle industry
3. Graduate by June 1, 2021
Salary & Benefits
Determined between host feedyard and intern. Typically includes housing.
