Duties include but are not limited to assisting with processing cattle for herd work (both at the clinic and on farm) and surgeries, giving vaccinations, and basic large animal care; small animal: assisting with exams and surgeries, patient care and monitoring, running and maintaining in-house diagnostic and radiology equipment, nails trims, along with basic grooming and small animal care. Other possible duties include scheduling, client communication (phone calls and paperwork), filing, computer and telephone communication. Good communication skills and ability to work well with others with a positive attitude are a must.
* Current Veterinary Technician/Nurse License or new graduate in the process of obtaining both a Kansas and Nebraska license is requested but would consider someone with experience only that is willing to be trained to be a Veterinary Assistant.
* Would prefer someone with experience working around cattle but would be willing to train the right applicant.
* We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, honest, reliable, respectful, positive minded team player who possesses good communication (both written and verbal) skills and is a people person who is willing to learn and work with all staff and clients in a busy, mixed animal practice.
Would prefer someone who is comfortable working with both large and small animals but would consider an applicant who has strengths in just one area.
