CUSTODIAN II
(11pm-7:30am, Sunday-Thursday)

Perform routine work in cleaning and general upkeep of NCTA campus buildings and outdoor spaces. Scrub, strip, refinish and polish floors using heavy industrial-type powered scrubbing and buffing machines. Vacuum and clean carpets using industrial-type vacuum cleaners and carpet extractors. Mix cleaning solution per instruction. Collect and dispose of refuse requiring heavy physical efforts. Remove snow and ice from steps of immediate building area(s). Move objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally more while moving furniture or setting up tables and chairs for special events. Hours are 11:00pm-7:30am, Sunday-Thursday. Must be flexible to work during other employee leave absences (all shifts) on a rotating basis and weekends as may be assigned.

Eighth grade education required. Ability to follow oral and written instructions necessary. Must have the ability to understand cleaning chemicals and their application and dilution ratios. Must have the ability to gain knowledge and skill to operate large cleaning equipment. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Commercial cleaning experience along with light building maintenance and grounds duties preferred.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR-AGRIBUSINESS MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture is seeking candidates for an Assistant Professor position in Agribusiness Management Systems major available January 4, 2016. Duties include developing and teaching courses within the Agribusiness Management Systems (AMS) major, including the development and updating of course outlines, lesson plans, power point presentations, and course materials for both lecture and laboratory formats utilizing new technologies. This position requires a conferred master’s degree in agribusiness or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution, understanding and use of computer technology and excellent communication skills. Preferred qualifications include previous college teaching experience, practical agribusiness and/or entrepreneurship experience and practical experience in production agriculture with familiarity in Cornbelt/Great Plains agriculture, and previous experience sponsoring student activities and/or clubs and organizations, including fundraising. NCTA faculty are faculty of the University of Nebraska who are assigned academic rank, but are not eligible for continuous appointment (tenure).
