AGRICULTURAL MECHANICS FACULTY POSITION

Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis, NE is seeking candidates for an academic year agricultural mechanics faculty position available August 17, 2015. Duties are to: develop and teach agricultural mechanics courses including welding, agricultural electrification, center pivot irrigation systems, and agricultural equipment; develop and update course outlines, lesson plans, power point presentations, and course materials for both lecture and laboratory formats utilizing new technologies. For appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, this position requires a master's degree in agriculture, agricultural mechanics, agricultural engineering, agricultural education or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution. Associate Professor rank requires experience and qualifications outlined in the college promotion policy. Applicant must have a thorough understanding of the applied mechanical, electrical and irrigation systems used in production agriculture as well as demonstrated skill in developing mechanical and technical abilities in students.

A bachelor's degree in the listed disciplines plus five years of successful teaching experience at the postsecondary or secondary level may be considered in lieu of a master's degree but applicants without a master's degree are required to secure a master's degree within five years of employment. NCTA has a generous tuition reimbursement program for employees pursuing graduate education within the University of Nebraska system.

Preferred qualifications include: doctorate in agriculture, education or related discipline; two years related work experience in agricultural mechanics or closely related discipline; previous agricultural mechanics teaching and recruiting experience; experience with welding, constructing and maintaining center pivot irrigation systems, engine diagnostics and equipment repair; knowledge of proper safety, care and maintenance of shop facilities as it relates to instruction; possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills and be a team player.

CUSTODIAN II

11:00pm-7:30am, Tuesday-Saturday

Position will perform routine work in cleaning and general upkeep of NCTA campus buildings and outdoor spaces and will scrub, strip, refinish and polish floors using heavy industrial-type powered scrubbing and buffing machines. Position will vacuum and clean carpets using industrial-type vacuum cleaners and carpet extractors, mix cleaning solution per instruction, collect and dispose of refuse requiring heavy physical efforts and remove snow and ice from steps of immediate building area(s). Position will move objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally more while moving furniture or setting up tables and chairs for special events. Hours are 11:00pm-7:30am, Tuesday-Saturday and candidate must be flexible to work during other employee leave absences (all shifts) on a rotating basis and weekends as may be assigned. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR-AGRIBUSINESS MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS


Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis, NE, is seeking candidates for an Academic year non-tenure leading Assistant Professor in Agribusiness Management Systems major available August 17, 2015. Develop and teach courses within the Agribusiness Management Systems (AMS) major, including the development and updating of course outlines, lesson plans, power point presentations, and course materials for both lecture and laboratory formats utilizing new technologies. This position requires a conferred Master's degree in Agribusiness or closely related field from an accredited institution, understanding and use of computer technology and excellent communication skills. Preferred qualifications include previous college teaching experience with background in education, practical agribusiness and/or entrepreneurship experience and practical experience in production agriculture with familiarity in Cornbelt/Great Plains agriculture, fundraising experience and previous experience sponsoring student activities and/or clubs and organizations.
