Aggie Rodeo from the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture at Curtis completed its fall season in North Dakota.

Two Aggies competed in double rodeos at Fort Dickenson on Sept. 30 to Oct. 2.

Ellie Stohlmann of Ashland was in barrel racing.  Callie Bauer of Arcadia team roped. However, vigorous competition ended their fall season, said Aggie Coach Jaden Clark.

“We came up short in making it to the final short go, unfortunately,” Clark said. “Everyone had a safe and enjoyable weekend, at the least.”

Other Aggies who had hoped to attend were unable to travel this time. Nathan Burnett, team leader in season points, is looking forward to further collegiate contests as an Aggie in saddle bronc riding when the season resumes next April.

Round Robin Team Roping

The popular Round Robin Team Roping Series that the club started this fall continues each Tuesday night until Nov. 9.

Contests for headers and heelers are held at Curtis Mill Park outdoor arenas or, in case of inclement weather, at the NCTA Livestock Teaching Center on campus.

Proceeds are split between the winning header and winning heeler, and the NCTA Rodeo Team.

Part of the University of Nebraska system, the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture is a two-year institution with a statewide mission of preparing students for successful careers in agriculture, veterinary technology and related industries. NCTA is known for its affordable tuition, high job-placement rate for its graduates, and for the success of student teams in competitive activities including crops judging, ranch horse events, livestock judging, shotgun sports, stock dog trials, and intercollegiate rodeo. The college is consistently ranked as one of the best two-year schools in the nation.
