Hamburgers and all the fixings are on the menu Thursday in Curtis for a community appreciation meal hosted by the NCTA Collegiate Cattlemen club.

“The purpose of the ‘Feed the Farmers & Ranchers’ meal is to serve the community, socialize with agricultural producers and include them in our event here at the NCTA campus,” said Cassidy Frey, president of Collegiate Cattlemen.

The student organization at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture supports student interests in the beef cattle industry. Annually, they help serve in the Beef Pit at the Nebraska State Fair.

In 2021, they hosted a beef progress show in North Platte and a campus panel discussion with beef producers.

The meal begins at 5:30 p.m. at the NCTA Student Union. Freewill donations will help defray expenses, and any proceeds will assist the club with future projects.

Professor Doug Smith is the club’s faculty advisor.
