Job Description/Duties:
Rockhill Pet Clinic, a growing three-doctor small animal practice, is currently seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to supervise our patient care team. Rockhill Pet Clinic is a progressive companion animal clinic located in the charming Brookside neighborhood in mid-town Kansas City. We are a full service hospital offering advanced diagnostics, critical and urgent care, surgery, dentistry and preventative healthcare as well as alternative therapies, grooming and boarding services. We have a dedicated and highly skilled support team, and we actively seek out opportunities for continued education and development for both our doctors and support staff. Rockhill Pet Clinic has an established client base and has been serving the Brookside Waldo community for more than 20 years, providing excellence in pet health care and developing long term relationships with our clients and community partners. This position requires a person with the technical skills necessary to provide excellent patient care, the medical knowledge base to understand and assist the doctor with the management of complex medical cases, and the communication skills needed to deliver exceptional client service and the leadership skills to achieve results through others. The right candidate will be highly motivated, have a keen attention to detail, exude a positive and warm demeanor and enjoy working in an atmosphere of continual learning.
Some of the duties of this position include:
- Supervising the patient care team
- Supervise inventory counts
- Manage the ordering of medical supplies and medications
- Supervise maintenance of the surgery and lab equipment
- Supervise weekly clinic maintenance and cleaning; ensure that checklists are completed
- After hours supervisory duties (in rotation)
- Managing the in-house treatment list
- Overseeing the care of hospitalized and boarding patients
- All other nursing and exam room duties and responsibilities

Qualifications or Skills Required:
This job requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 40 pounds. This job requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to reach and grasp, and the visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read information. Employees are routinely exposed to a variety of pets that may bite or scratch, and on occasion, could be exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards and medications. RVT/LVT is a plus but not a requirement.
Salary & Benefits:
$40-45,000 Annual Salary, Health Care Benefits, Retirement, PTO and Paid CE
