I had the privilege of helping with a fundraiser for one of our own this past week. Mo Khamouna, NCTA’s Library Specialist, has been with NCTA since 1996. Mo’s family experienced a house fire last December. As a member of our community, both Curtis and NCTA, we want to do all we can to help his family.

Aggies will Glow Big Red Wednesday, February 8, 2023

NCTA is proud to be the “fifth campus” of the University of Nebraska. We are also proud to be supported by the University of Nebraska Foundation in fundraising efforts. One of those efforts is taking place next week with the “Glow Big Red” campaign.
If you aren’t aware, Glow Big Red is a 24-hour day of giving. From noon to noon, February 15 and 16, we will celebrate NCTA and raise vital funding to ensure that our students receive an exceptional education and have life-changing experiences while in Curtis.

End of Semester Wrap-up Wednesday, January 4, 2023

We started out this semester in August in the middle of a major heat wave and drought. While we are still in the middle of the drought, I’d take just a few degrees of that heat this week! Single-digit highs and negative lows in the forecast don’t bode well for a comfortable new year.

I’m not sure about you, but I sit in my office and wonder where these last 4 months have gone! Friday was the last day of the fall semester for NCTA students and Faculty. The mass exodus has begun. It’s going to be very quiet on campus for a few weeks.
I hope you aren’t like me and have been able to really cherish every day leading up to this season. As I mentioned in an earlier column, this year has been a little different since we have added two cats to our household.
