Job Description/Duties: 

Adams Land and Cattle, LLC has an exciting opportunity at our South Feedlot located in Broken Bow, NE within our Cattle Health Department.

This person will be responsible for:

  • Assisting cattle health team with all cattle doctoring, cattle movement, management of special pens, and necropsy.

  • Operating mobile hospital units, including applying treatment protocols based on diagnosis, collecting and inputting data into computer, and relocating animals based off diagnosis and protocol.

  • Conducting post-mortem examinations.

  • Monitoring and sorting cattle in special pens.

  • Evaluating chronics on a weekly basis.

  • Sorting and transporting cattle from different areas.

  • Communicating constantly and as needed within the team and with other teams.

  • Reporting vet pen and general pen maintenance to Cattle Health Team Lead or Supervisor.

  • Collecting and inputting data into computer; running and evaluating reports

  • Operating equipment (e.g. tractors, loaders, mobile hospitals, trucks, and trailers) in a safe manner.

  • Performing preventative maintenance, inspections, and pre-start checks on equipment and facilities.

  • Maintaining and cleaning equipment facilities daily and as needed.

  • Troubleshooting computer issues and contacting leadership and/or IT as needed.

  • Attending shift startup meetings, daily as scheduled.

  • Staying current with all required trainings and SOP's.

  • Assisting in other areas of cattle production.

Qualifications or Skills Required:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Previous cattle and BQA knowledge and experience.

  • Commitment to safety and quality culture.

    This position requires:

  • Individual must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.

  • Exerting 50-100 pounds of force rarely; 25-50 pounds of force occasionally; 10-20 pounds occasionally. -Standing, sitting, walking, carrying, lifting/lowering, pushing/pulling, bending, twisting, climbing, crawling, stairs, reaching/handling/grasping occasionally; kneeling/crouching rarely.
