Building upon NCTA’s history

In reflecting upon this past year at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture, one of the events I enjoy noting is the 50th year for the campus to serve Nebraskans and others as a post-secondary educational institution.

This fall semester marked the silver anniversary for the University of Nebraska School of Technical Agriculture (1965-1988) and NCTA (1988-present).

NCTA adds two undergraduate certificate programs

Hands-on learning opportunities in welding and agricultural chemical application got a boost last week in Nebraska’s higher education programs.
College students taking courses for credit in agricultural welding or agricultural chemical application from the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture (NCTA) can earn an undergraduate certificate in these programs, effective in January. Read NCTA adds two undergraduate certificate programs

Learning from our industry partners

By Ron Rosati, NCTA Dean

Students at NCTA have had a busy fall semester in the classroom and at intercollegiate competitions.

I am proud of the discipline exhibited by the students in their preparation for both learning environments.

For example, in one of the general studies courses taught by Eric Reed, his students are required to give a public speech.  They will be sharing speaking skills in presentations on campus this week.

Giving thanks for our blessings

This is a very special week at NCTA as we have so much to be grateful for this Thanksgiving.

With gratitude, I recognize our Curtis community, this region, and the many agricultural partners assisting the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture. Many community organizations, churches, families and individuals enrich our campus and our students.

Reflections on Fifty Years

We recently celebrated 50 years as a post-secondary institution educating Nebraska students and others interested in technical agriculture.

Akin to bringing in the harvest and recording a bin-buster of a crop, the college’s celebration was filled with an abundance of memories and appreciation for those who started building our academic programs back in 1965.

Thank you, Our Veterans

By Ron Rosati, NCTA Dean

Our students and faculty of the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture will be joining the community of Curtis on Wednesday in the local salute to veterans.

November 11, especially, is a significant opportunity for each of us to express and display the respect and gratitude we hold with those who have served in military service, who are active service personnel, and particularly to pay tribute to those who died in valor for our country and fellow citizens.
