Applicant will be highly involved in the breeding and foaling care of American Quarter Horses at a high volume equine breeding facility. Applicant will assist foaling out mares under a video surveillance system, assist breeding mares via artificial insemination, and will be responsible for equine husbandry and feeding and assist Dr. Johnson with veterinary related work. This position is excellent for an equine science major or a veterinary technician major.
History of working with or around horses in the past and a strong desire to work closely with horses on a daily basis. Ability to lift and stack 60 lb small square bales in the back of side by side to feed. Valid drivers license is required.
This is a paid internship that will be competitive based on the successful applicants abilities and work ethic.
