Position Title: Farm Hand

Position Type: Internship/full time

Organization Name: Mercer Farms, Inc

Location (City, State): Gibbon, NE, 9 miles east of Kearney

Job Description/Duties

• Field prep for planting (1200 acres corn & soybeans, no livestock)
• Scout fields for weeds & insects
• Spray fields with 60/90 ft. sprayer pulled by John Deere tractor
• Cultivate with RTK equipped John Deere tractor
• Sidedress corn with 40’ applicator
• Irrigate with newer pivots
• Maintain/Repair equipment in new farm shop
• Haul grain to elevator with straight trucks if needed (3 miles away, No CDL required)
• General maintenance of farmstead

Qualifications or Skills Required

• Farming experience needed
• Some mechanical skills preferred

Salary and Benefits

• $16/hr.
• Possible scholarship for next school year
• Will help with housing close by
