We are looking for someone who can grow into management of the cow herd and would be able to do the jobs that go along with that: fencing, pasture management; health monitoring, chute work; individual record keeping. In addition, that person would also need to be able to help with the farming enterprise as needed. It is an opportunity for a young person to buy into a good cow herd and achieve management status with the help of a mentor who has 60 years of experience in managing cows.
The person must be a hard worker and have an eagerness to learn. It would be helpful if he/she had experience handling cattle and working cattle horse back. A background or at least some training in range management would be beneficial.
$3,000 per month plus health insurance. If it is a good fit, at the end of the first year the employee would be given five cows as their own that they would run with the rest of the herd.
