Position Title: Harvest Scale Operator

Job Description/Duties:
Adams Land and Cattle has an exciting opportunity for an individual to assist us through our harvest season. The ideal candidate is an effective communicator with strong multitasking and problem solving skills.
This person will be responsible for:
- Maintaining scale traffic to ensure trucks are in and out of the lot in a safe and timely manner.
- Communicating effectively with commodity drivers face-to-face and/or CB radio.
- Accurately recording incoming commodities via Smart Soft (ALCC's scale/inventory system).
- Sampling and testing corn for moisture content.
- Maintaining daily logs, spreadsheets, and other reports as assigned.
- Assisting team members in accomplishing daily goals and priorities.
- Maintaining the work area and equipment in a safe and clean manner.
- Maintaining Adams Land and Cattle standard of professionalism when dealing with employees, visitors, and customers.
- Performing other job related functions as needed.
*Wage: $13.00 / hour, plus $300 Bonus with completion of contract
*Schedule: 5:30 am – 7:30 pm (shift splits, example: 5:30 am - 2:00 pm, 1:00 pm - 7:30 pm)
Qualifications or Skills Required:
The ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications:
- Reliable and prompt.
- Basic knowledge of computers.
- Ability to move quickly between tasks; working through a variety of tasks in the same timeframe.
- Accurately and efficiently enter data with high attention to detail.
- Ability to self-check data entered
- Availability to work a varied schedule ranging from 6:00 am to 7:30 pm, in addition to weekends.
- Background or interest in the cattle industry
- Previous office experience is beneficial.
This position requires:
- Exerting 10-20 pounds of force occasionally. Sitting or standing continuously. Carrying, lifting/lowering, bending, and reaching/handling/grasping occasionally. Walking, pushing/pulling, climbing, kneeling/crouching, and stairs rarely.
