Job Description/Duties: 

Institutional Animal Care Program (IACP) Technician II:
Provides variety of basic to skilled animal care duties to support research activities in the IACP centrally managed facilities. Responsibilities include general care and husbandry for multiple species of animals, maintenance of equipment, and collection of research data. In addition, oversees daily health care and perform technical tasks. Job requires ability to work irregular hours, work in inclement conditions and have a suitable driving record to be able to drive university vehicles.

In addition to the above responsibilities, the IACP Technician III position provides occasional supervision of 1-6 employees or students and assists with development of planning for the facility.  

Qualifications or Skills Required: 

IACP Tech II:
Associate’s degree in animal science, veterinary technology, or a related field required; equivalent experience/education considered. Ability balance and complete multiple priority tasks simultaneously essential. Must be able to build trust and effective working relationships with teammates and clients – both internal and external. Must have competent computer skills including keyboarding, MS Word, Excel and browsers. Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills necessary. Skillful problem solving skills required.

IACP Tech III:
Bachelor’s degree in animal science, veterinary technology or related field or associates degree with 1-3 years related experience required. Ability to balance and complete multiple priority tasks simultaneously essential. Must be able to build trust and effective working relationships with teammates and clients – both internal and external. Must have advanced computer skills including keyboarding, MS Word, Excel and browsers. Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills necessary. Skillful problem solving and critical thinking skills required. 

Salary & Benefits: 
IACP Tech II: $15.50/hr min; IACP Tech III: $17.00/hr min
