Internship, Schultz Hay LLC
Position Type: Internship
Organization Name: Schultz Hay LLC
Location (City, State): Cozad, NE
I am a 2004 NCTA graduate and looking for an individual to help with custom haying business. I currently custom bale for local farmers in the area stretching from North Platte to Lexington and cover approximately 4000 acres of alfalfa. I usually strive to cut those acres four times, from some time in May through mid to late October. I, also, bale prairie hay, cane, straw, soybean stubble and usually somewhere in the neighborhood of 8000-10,000 bales of cornstalks per year. I have older John Deere tractors ranging from 4440's to rake with, to 4450's and 4560's to bale with. I have new balers every other year that are also John Deere and utilize Greenstar displays for the monitors. My windrowers are self-propelled, also John Deere's and are new every year. They utilize Greenstar for guidance and autosteer, also. I pile bales with bale forks at this time and they carry two bales at a time. We strive to make the best bales possible, depending on the weather and other conditions.
