Assist in carrying out specific operational and water-related programs and projects of the District. Conduct maintenance activities associated with watershed dams, recreation areas, district office, shop, vehicles and equipment. Assist with conducting annual buffer strip inspections and other wildlife habitat projects. Secondary duties would be collecting water samples, conduct water flow meter maintenance, chemigation inspections, conduct ultrasonic water meter investigations and collect groundwater levels in both dedicated and monitoring wells.
Must have the ability to work cooperatively and build positive relations with district constituents, staff, board and other agency personnel. Good communication and organization skills. Ability to work independently, plan and organize work and make prudent and timely decisions for effective implementation of programs. Must be able to perform physical activities and outdoor work as required, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Have the ability to operate machinery associated with functions of this position; have mechanical skills necessary for maintenance and repairs of agricultural and light construction equipment. Must be proficient with the computer and knowledge of spreadsheets and databases. Must have a current driver`s license and be able to obtain a Natural Resources Ground Water Technician Certification License within the first 6 months of employment.
