Start this year’s Halloween off right with 5-K fun for all ages!

Test out those costumes and get that ghoulish blood pumping by walking or running around NCTA’s creepy campus on Thursday (Oct. 28).

Three students at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture are coordinating the event for the Curtis community.

Participants will register upon arrival outside the Education Center between 4:30 p.m. and the race’s start time at 5 p.m., said Gillian Brinker.

The race will be open until 7 p.m. All racers will be eligible to compete for best time and best costume awards, said Hayden Baker.

The prize for best costume will be an NCTA Gift Bag. The prize for best recorded time will be a gift card to the Anvil Bar and Grill in Curtis.

The terrain is easy to traverse, and the trail is well marked, said William Huebner. Water will be provided at the mid-way point.

"Enjoy this frightful fall night filled with spooky spectacles and terrifying treats for everyone!” adds Brinker.

Brinker, Baker and Huebner are coordinating the 5K Walk-Run for an NCTA class in Human Resources with Dr. Eric Reed, instructor.

Part of the University of Nebraska system, the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture is a two-year institution with a statewide mission of preparing students for successful careers in agriculture, veterinary technology and related industries. NCTA is known for its affordable tuition, high job-placement rate for its graduates, and for the success of student teams in competitive activities including crops judging, ranch horse events, livestock judging, shotgun sports, stock dog trials, and intercollegiate rodeo. The college is consistently ranked as one of the best two-year schools in the nation.
