TORRINGTON, Wyo. – Seven Ranch Horse students from NCTA competed last weekend in their second live show of the fall season.

The Colorado Northeastern Junior College Ranch Horse Versatility Team hosted the Fall Showdown at the Goshen County Fairgrounds.

“We had a wonderful weekend in Torrington with horses and riders alike putting together runs that showed their talent, skill and progress,” said Coach Joanna Hergenreder.

Coach Hergenreder summarizes results:

Ayden Long, Lebanon, Kansas, and his mare, Peptos Seven Six, finished as the Reserve Champion All-Around Non-Pro with wins in Ranch Pleasure and Working Cow with a smokin' 75.5 down the fence.

Cauy Bennett, Elwood, and his mare, Katy Sugar Lena, finished as 3rd high All-Around Non-Pro with a reserve finish in Ranch Trail, a 3rd in the Pleasure and 5th in both Reining and Working Cow.

Connor Crumbliss, Fairfield, and his mare, PR She's Packin, built on their previous show and finished 4th in Limited Non-Pro All-Around with reserve in Ranch Trail, 3rd in Reining and 5th in both Pleasure and Working Cow.

Addison Villwok, Randolph, and her gelding, Watch Me Fool Them, had another strong show with a 5th place All-Around in Limited Non-Pro with 3rd in Ranch Trail, 4th in both Pleasure and Working Cow, and 5th in Reining.

Macy Zentner, Cedar Rapids, and her gelding, Blue, finished 4th All-Around Novice rider in the largest division at this show with 3rd in Trail, 5th in Reining, 6th in Working Cow, and 8th in Pleasure.

Annie Bassett, Gothenburg, and her mare, Annabelle, finished 7th in the Novice All-Around with 6th in Trail, 7th in both Reining and Working Cow, and 9th in Pleasure.

Devry Bellomy, Elkhart, Kansas, and her gelding, CD Bar Booger 3, had their first show and surprised everyone with a strong showing in the largest Novice division. The duo finished 5th in Working Cow out of a field of 14, 6th in Reining and 10th in Ranch Pleasure.

Assistant coach Haley Linder competed in the open division. Kat Moyer and Hailee Lynn served as ground support in helping riders with preparations while gaining experience for future contests.

“We will be refining our strong areas and working to improve the areas of limitation with a goal to roll into the spring season with an even more competitive team,” Hergenreder said.
