Civil discourse is Monday lecture topic

CURTIS, Neb. – The public is invited to hear two former United States Senators and native Nebraskans discuss “Stewards of Civil Discourse: Value and Impacts on Nebraska's Future" in Curtis on Monday.
The Heuermann Lecture, featuring U.S. Senators Bob Kerrey and Chuck Hagel, will be livestreamed to the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture Education Center auditorium at 3:30 p.m. CST on Monday.
The lecture is based at the Nebraska Innovation Campus in Lincoln and livestreamed for students and the public to attend at NCTA.
The Heuermann Lecture Series is co-sponsored by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
NCTA Dean Ron Rosati invites the public to attend the 90-minute broadcast which includes Q & A. It is free of charge, and will include refreshments provided by the NCTA Dean’s Office.
Both native Nebraskans are military veterans of the Vietnam War. They served together in the U.S. Senate from 1997-2001.
Kerrey became president of New School University in New York, and Hagel was the 24th Secretary of Defense, serving from February 2013 to February 2015.
