Broken Bow, Neb. – Curtis Aggie alumni of the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture will gather June 24 in Broken Bow, announced Ron Rosati, NCTA Dean and Kim Mortensen, alumni association president.

“All high school and college alumni from the 114-year-old institution at Curtis, Nebraska, are welcome to attend the reunion and banquet,” said Mortensen, UNSTA ‘83.

High school graduates of the Nebraska School of Agriculture (NSA) and University of NSA, plus college graduates from the past 51 years of the University of Nebraska School of Technical Agriculture (UNSTA) and NCTA will be recognized in the all-school event.

The alumni association board of directors chose to hold the 2017 gathering in the Sandhills so more members from north central Nebraska might be able to attend.  In recent years, York and Curtis have been reunion hosts.

“We have quite a few alumni from the Sandhills region, where many of the production agriculture and veterinary technician students hailed during their college careers.  Many still operate ranches, farms and agribusinesses in the region,” said Mortensen.

Festivities will be held through the day, with the annual banquet Saturday evening at the Nebraska One Box Convention Center in Broken Bow, Mortensen said.

The NCTA Dean’s Spring Newsletter will provide more details to more than 4,200 alumni and campus friends, said Catherine Potter Hauptman, NCTA VT, '03, alumni association secretary.

“Each year I enjoy the alumni banquet,” she said. “No matter what year you graduated from, whether UNSTA or NCTA, you find a comradery with the alumni who attend. It’s always a lot of laughs and we learn new things about the institution from the various stories shared.”

For more information, contact Hauptman at the Dean’s Office at 308 367-5200, 1-800-3CURTIS or chauptman4@unl.edu.

Alumni Association officers are:  President Kim Bowers Mortensen, President-elect Dave Mehaffey of Bellwood, Secretary Catherine Potter Hauptman, Treasurer Taylor Rossenbach, and Past President Dan Stehlik, all of Curtis.
