FFA Salute to Ag Educator Emily Whipple

For National FFA Week, February 20-26, we feature alumni of the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture who are agriculture educators and chapter advisors for FFA.

They are among 12 UNSTA or NCTA graduates currently in classrooms and leading the 203 FFA chapters in Nebraska.

We appreciate their commitment and dedication to Nebraska youth and agriculture.

Meet Emily Whipple, native of Cambridge
Q: What year did you graduate from NCTA?
A: May of 2016

Q: What a highlight of your program and career at NCTA?
A: A highlight of my time at NCTA was being on the livestock judging team and getting to observe high-quality teachers in the area

Q: When did you start teaching?
A: I student taught at Pender in 2018. I am in my third year of teaching at Ainsworth Community Schools.

Q: What are the activities planned for FFA Week?
A: Our chapter does Ag Mini-Lessons, we have an FFA Chapter Supper hosted with the banks, we host a State FFA Officer, and other various activities for students throughout the week. We also have a scavenger hunt around the schools which includes the golden cow and the golden tractor

Q: Any other information?
A: We have a dress-up day for all grades and will also have students write news articles for the local newspaper about how FFA has impacted them in their life.
