CURTIS, Neb. – Employers of businesses, agricultural operations and industries in Nebraska can meet college students Thursday in Curtis at the 2018 NCTA Career Fair.

The annual event allows employers to visit the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture campus yet this fall, before the spring job search season gets busy, said Kevin Martin, advisor with NCTA Student Services.

Several Aggie students will complete their degree or certificate program in December.

However, the majority of the NCTA students will be May graduates from agriculture production, agribusiness management or veterinary technology.

“This allows our NCTA students a chance to see what is available for employment, and it is also a great time to discuss internship opportunities for next summer,” Martin added.

Employment opportunities are available at swine farms, agricultural cooperatives and cattle feedlots.

Strong demand exists for skilled individuals as operations managers, beef herd technicians, plant distribution specialists, and in some areas of agribusiness and animal health Martin said.

Recently, he received an inquiry about candidates for a multi-state irrigation well drilling and pump installation business.

Employers are asked to pre-register with Kevin Martin at kmartin4@unl.edu or 308-367-5217.
