Curtis, Neb. – Agricultural producers and area residents can come to college to hear about legislation and Nebraska agriculture issues on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Curtis.

The Collegiate Farm Bureau Club of the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture (NCTA) has invited Steve Nelson, a farmer from Axtell and president of Nebraska Farm Bureau Federation, to address students in a campus forum at the Nebraska Agriculture Industry Education Center auditorium.
Nelson will discuss current agricultural issues and give farmers, ranchers and students a legislative update, said Ross Steward, NCTA agronomy student and collegiate chapter president.
“Our student organization has been very active this year in attending the Young Farmers-Ranchers conference, traveling to Lincoln for Legislative Day at the State Capitol and increasing our awareness on important issues,” said Steward of Littleton. Colo. “We are honored to welcome President Nelson to NCTA.”
Last December, for the first time, two collegiate Farm Bureau members served as state delegates to the Nebraska Farm Bureau State Convention. Steward represented NCTA, joining the UNL chapter president.
Faculty advisor for NCTA Collegiate Farm Bureau is Dr. Brad Ramsdale.  For information about NCTA agronomy and agricultural mechanics, crops judging, or Collegiate Farm Bureau programs, contact Ramsdale at bramsdale2@unl.edu.
