Sporting clay enthusiasts can spend part of Labor Day at a Pasture Shoot, a fun match hosted by the Aggie Shotgun Sports Team of the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis.

Participants will meet from 9 a.m.. to 3:30 p.m. at the Taylor Pasture, located 3.2 miles north of Maywood on Road 385.

The shotgun team is coordinating the event as one of this year’s fundraisers, said Coach Alan Taylor.

“Come out and enjoy the day, and help support the NCTA team,” he said. Lunch will be provided as part of the entry fee.

Sportsmen and women can take aim at 80 targets for a $30 entry or purchase an unlimited number of sporting clays for $70.

Proceeds will help the team with entry fees, travel costs and targets for upcoming matches. The collegiate club is open to any NCTA student.

The club practices twice weekly at the Curtis Gun Club, receiving great support from the City of Curtis and area businesses, Taylor said.

The Aggies travel for the next five weekends and have more meets planned in October. The season opener is Sept. 10-11 at Fort Hays State in Kansas.
