Kallie Hilker has been named the Aggie of the Month for March 2018 at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis.

The native of Cambridge, Nebraska, is studying veterinary technology and is currently completing her veterinary technician internship requirement with Hilltop Veterinary Clinic in Kearney.

She will graduate on May 3 from NCTA, work at the clinic in Kearney this summer, and then plans to return to campus in August to add a degree in agribusiness management.

On campus, she is has been active with the stock dog team and the Student Technicians of Veterinary Medicine Association (STVMA) Club.  Both clubs are based in the Vet Tech department.

She was nominated by Judy Bowmaster-Cole, associate professor in Veterinary Technology Systems, who described her student as, “Always smiling, and always cheerfully helpful.”

The VTS staff also noted Hilker’s dedication to academics, compassion for animals and her VTS activities in making the nomination.

“Kallie is always willing to help with anything that needs done, with a positive attitude! A true joy to be around,” said Josi Arnold, VTS lab assistant and office associate.

Students are selected for Aggie of the Month honors by nominations and selections by faculty, staff and student leaders. Recipients receive a certificate from NCTA Dean Ron Rosati.
